I build things that fly, I write code & I shoot 360° photos & videos

After earning my BSc & PhD in Computer Science from the University of St Andrews, my day job now sees me shooting 360° photos & flying commercial aerial photography/survey drone missions. I previously worked building prototype sensor payloads for a startup in the next-generation automotive sector. I'm a keen member of the radio control community (when the weather in Scotland permits!) & I particularly enjoy more involved, hands-on approaches to solving technical challenges.

I build & fly multirotors of all shapes & sizes, from freestyle FPV miniquads & racing drones to big aerial photography platforms, both off-the-shelf & custom-built. Since 2016 I have been RUSTA RPCS qualified for commercial multirotor work in the UK under a PfCO. You can watch some examples of my commercial work here & a compilation of my FPV flying here.

360° Media

I have worked extensively as a 360° photographer in the heritage, history & archaeology sectors, shooting all across Scotland with the National Trust, going underwater at Deep Sea World, exploring a gold mine with Scotgold, trekking across the Icelandic wilderness with Skri├░uklaustur, documenting World Heritage Sites in Tanzania, playing in the DNR Outdoor Adventure Centre in Detroit & contributing to the 2016 Venice Biennale of Architecture with Prospect North. You can see some examples of my output here.
