Decided to have a change & snapsh!t on digital for once, starting with the Biogon.
Some random shots from throughout the week. For the most part I was taking video, which one day I will put together into some sort of light-hearted documentary. Not sure if it was me or Ryo that took this first one.
Finally started going through photos from Freshers’ Week this year (not touched the 70GB of video yet…) & had some fun with these shots of the stage one night.

Pulsar ChromaStrip (lightweight plastic LED strips) in the vertical columns at the back, LED par cans shining down onto the arch at the front. We used spirals of clear & white balloons, but in hindsight we realised that just white probably would’ve looked better. Something to try next time!
It’s RAG week 2014 at St Andrews, so the Ents Crew once again gets to play with thousands of purple balloons (purple is the RAG colour). This year we tried something new & twisted jewel tone (translucent) balloons around strings of (LED) fairy lights – the same way that you twist them around arch line to make an arch. I thought it would be fun to wear my GoPro whilst making one of the lines so here’s the result!
The GoPro unfortunately didn’t pick up the effect with the main lights off at all at the end of the video, but in person it actually looks really pretty & this photo gives a better idea of the beautiful bokeh ball heaven that we created – fairy lights, balloons & f/1.1 is a bokeh whore’s dream :)
